About the course "Advanced yoga methods"

When people have studied fundamental kinds of yoga well they may explore many other aspects and more advanced kinds of yoga. Open yoga offers widepossibilities to study these kinds of yoga and this course will include small review of the following kinds of yoga:

  • Topic 1

    • karma yogaKarma yoga is very interesting and very practical, however it is quite unusual type of yoga. There are no physical exercises, such as head stand etc. The term Karma is nowadays very popular in the West, but as it usually happens, being originated from the East, it has lost its initial meaning. When we say the word "karma" we mean the law of cause and effect. It means there is no fatality, no evil forces producing obstacles in life. We have created everything that we have.
  • Topic 2

    • bhakti yoga

We have the ability to perceive the world by feelings and emotions. Bhakti yoga teaches us that behind everything truly beautiful there is some higher aspects. Bhakti yoga encourages us to understand the world through feelings. Watching the beautiful, looking for the beautiful is yoga by itself. It is a very strong method by itself, as through watching the beautiful you forget about reality and naturally achieve the highest level of concentration. However, there is also a catch that may misguide on the way.

  • Topic 3

    • yantra yoga visualition
Yantra yoga uses our ability to see and perceive forms and shapes. A form can be drawn on paper or in sand.If we use this channel of perception we can achieve great results. We invite the Highest to manifest itself in our lives through the form or yantra. Yantra is not just a picture, it’s a channel of communication. It is very safe to practice this yoga but it requires certain preparations. It is not so obvious but it can speed up your practice tremendously.
  • Topic 4

    • jnana yoga theory of yoga
Djnana Yoga is a yoga of knowledge. We have our mind and we have the ability to think, to ask questions and to answer them. These abilities are natural, because the principle of nous was the first principle of the Universe. Djnana Yoga teaches us to develop our mind and logical thinking, but at the same time it teaches us to put it under control. We must work on developing our mind and making it sharp.
If you form the question properly it already contains the correct answer in it by at least 50%.
  • Topic 5

    • raja yoga intelect

Raja yoga is the yoga of power (over yourself, over other people or circumstances) Sometimes we use power, sometimes we comply with the requirements of others.
Raja yoga or Manager’s yoga is the ability to manage yourself as well as other people. We will learn to make others follow us, only when we learn to follow the others. Only those who can manage themselves, are capable of managing other people. Power is easy to get but hard to keep. Raja yoga teaches us how to use charisma, attract people, and influence them for greater benefits to everyone. By practicing specific exercises a person can obtain these abilities.
  • Topic 6

    • nidra yoga relaxion deep sleep
Yoga Nidra literally means "yogic sleep", but that is a bit of a misnomer. It is not a special kind of sleep, but a state between sleeping and waking. In fact, in some of the oldest written references to the term yoga Nidra, it is synonymous with samadhi, or union.
  • Topic 7

    Kundalini & Laya yoga

    • laya kundalini yoga
Kundalini Yoga is so called fast method of achieving results in yoga. The word "Kundalini" can be transated as a spiral, or a sleeping snake, a force located in a hidden place. The energy of kundalini is in sleeping, latent condition and it can be manifested as a power of consciousness, power of love or power of knowledge. Kundalini Yoga is a part of Tantra yoga, it was given to us by the teachers as a gift. It is a very fast and not the safest type of yoga.Laya yoga is closely connected with Kundalini yoga. The idea is that during yoga practices when you are actively using the energy of kundalini, some of our internal structures are dissolved by this energy, but due to our egoism we hang on to them. We want to get rid of some grime, but on the other hand we hold it tight. Yoga does not separate what impurities we want to keep and what we want to get rid of. It dissolves any dirt. Laya yoga helps us to make everything right when the energy of kundalini is woken up.
  • Topic 8

    • NyasaWe all have а tactile sense, which is tied up with our heart center. The heart center is a fundamental point, as our hearts are the most sensitive part of our spiritual development. Unless we realize this center to the full extent, we are prone to self-destruction, to all negative things. There is a type of yoga, called nyasa yoga, which works as an accellerator and speeds up the effects of all other types of yoga by 7-10 times. Technically nyasa Yoga is a work with tactile feelings, but this is just a top of the iceberg; there are much deeper and complicated processes. This is the safest type of yoga, but it requires the highest level of qualification to practice it.
