Goal

Our goal is to unlink (dissociate) thoughts and emotions. Before you do it, you can’t control your thoughts. The only way to escape – you should unchain thoughts with emotions and then - control emotions.Kriya Yoga helps us to do it.

Kriya Yoga keeps a tight rein on you by movements and time limit. Physical activity makes you indifferent to your thoughts. Your thoughts try clinging emotions and you don’t let them to do it because you are indifferent to them: you let your thoughts come and you let them go easily. You stop wasting your energy on useless and negative thoughts, and they starve to death, because you take away from them the only food – you deprive them your Energy. Kriya Yoga helps you a lot in this process. Kriya Yoga helps you to stop indentifying yourself with your emotions. Once you realize that you can feel the approaching of negative thoughts and instead of paying your attention and involving, you just let this thought go. Remember, if you let the thought cling to your emotion, you become a slave of this thought. The thought clings to you like a leach and drains your energy. Physical movements of Kriya Yoga grind emotional parts of thoughts that try to enslave you.

Millstones of emotions

If airplanes are on the ground you can crush them rather easily. But when they start flying high in the sky, you have to make enormous efforts to take them down one by one. The same idea is about your thoughts – it is very difficult to manage with them when they are on the air, but when you have them on the ground, you can do whatever you want with them. As ancient treatise say: Kriya Yoga grinds our negative Karma as millstones grind grain.

A thought appears, clings an emotion. Then this pair clings your energy and tries to drain it. Sooner or later it reaches the connection between gross and subtle bodies. When it reached the gross body, it founds out that gross body is busy with movements and can’t care less about the thought. The thought has nothing else but to fall back. The cornerstone of Kriya Yoga: you can help a lot to your subtle body by helping your gross body. At the physical level it turns into ritual: you do something at the gross level and it effects the subtle level through the invisible links.

Gross body is the greatest treasure. If a person thinks to commit suicide, it is the great level of foolishness. Because after the suicide the person deprives gross body and it is possible to fight with obsessions. It would be an endless hell and nightmare without a chance to wake up. One more bonus of Kriya Yoga: it creates wonders in treating different phobias.

Result of regular practice

If we were consistent in our yoga practice, we would move to the next level – the level of subtle body. The subtle level is so vast that even people who practice Kriya Yoga for a long time find something new all the time at that level.

I have never heard about a person who practice Kriya Yoga regularly and would not have been able to reach this level. So, you should be ready for this experience if you keep doing your practice. Everyone, who finds harmony during his/her yoga practice, move to the subtle level. At that level you will find a new world, a new reality. You can manage that world by managing your physical body. Many people who practice Kriya Yoga reveal creative skills and significantly improve their intellect. They make a great step forward in their life.

Here and now

After you bring your thoughts and emotions under control, you can, to a certain extent, control your mind. Then you move to the next level - the level of causal body. Only at that level you can use method “Here and Now”. It means that you can turn on and off your mind and, respectively, turn on problems and turn them off as desired. It means that you live “Here and Now”. Before you bring your mind under control, it moves chaotically. If your attempt to stop a flow of thoughts it could easily bring to dullness (“Tamas” in Sanskrit). You know this feeling: you are tired and the only thing you can do is staring in one point and don’t want anything. It is like a shock. This state has nothing to do with “Here and Now”, although it could externally look like “Here and Now”. State of “Here and Now” means the state of extreme clarity without any thoughts. The Highest intuition turns on; and you feel that you don’t need to think, because you already know everything. If you don’t think and feel that you don’t know everything – it is the state of torpor.

The state “Here and Now” is called Sattva. That is the highest clarity of mind. It is the highest state for a human being. When you are in this state you can concentrate on any thought you want and your mind will entirely focus on it. This state is called “Samadhi with an object”.  “Samadhi with an object” is the eighth and final step identified in the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali.

Work with Energy and Consciousness

Ability to turn off your mind comes to you step by step – you decrease thoughtforms gradually. The process of decreasing could look like turn on – turn off the light: observe a thought and then remove it.

Kriya Yoga at the causal level as well as Meditation could be practiced by two different methods:

1.      The object of meditation is imagined gradually

2.      The object of meditation is imagined instantly.

By stopping indentify yourself with the causal body, you get a chance to pull your Energy and Consciousness out. After pulling Energy and Consciousness out you need to redirect them. The direction would be you Highest Self. At that stage you would realize – the Highest Self exists. Only after you realize that fact that you can understand an axiom “Everything and everyone has its own Highest Self.” The circle of Yoga’s logic will be closed and you will move to the level of the Supreme Logic.

Gift

Yoga is a gift and I’m just a carrier of this gift, like a postman which brings you a letter. I have already passed some level in Yoga, got some knowledge there and now I share it with you.

Those Teachers were at the highest level of Yoga and gave their students starting points, which in turn helped them to reach the Highest points in Yoga.

The fact that now we have the knowledge of Yoga proves that it was the gift. The knowledge of Yoga is impossible to prove and beyond the level of Karma. Each of us must rediscover it personally. Even if I have already reached the Highest state you can’t check it. But you have the Knowledge. Sooner or later you will rediscover it by using the starting points, which I give you. Of course, you should trust the Knowledge, but remember that you must rediscover Yoga by yourself. The sooner you start, the sooner you get the results. The final result can’t be described in words. The final result is out of Karma. It is beyond everything. If somebody could have done something before you, it means you can also do it. There is no fundamental difference between you and ancient sages.

Way to the top

What is the final goal in Yoga? It is so-called “Samadhi without the object”. How can you reach it? You can try to stop identifying yourself with your mind and pull out Consciousness and Energy from your mind.

One more important moment – our Highest Self, which mistakenly believes to be own manifestations, is always in a state of “Sat - Chit - Ananda”. This state is the basis of the existence, bliss, happiness and joy.

The word “Ananda” can’t be translated properly into European languages. But let’s try to explain its meaning.  Each of us is searching for happiness. Each of us already has been in the state of happiness, at least for minutes or seconds. Now remember how you felt at that moment. Now imagine that you are in the state of happiness. And the happiness is increasing, like a climber is ascending a mountain higher and higher. This is analogy of Kriya Yoga – you climb and you feel happy when you reach the top. But the most important is not the top but the way to the top, the overcoming yourself.

Now imagine that Happiness but like you would got it with no efforts from your side – you didn’t need to climb the mountain or earn a billion dollars. I mean you don’t need to wait anything from outside that brings you Happiness. Now multiply it many times and increase to the state you can’t express in words – that would be the real and constant state of your Highest Self. Your current state is nothing but misunderstanding and the sooner you get rid of it, the better for you and for people around you. What does that mean?

Everything that Yoga gives us is not from outside, but from inside. Yoga reveals the happiness we already have inside us. The sooner you put aside everything that you are not, the faster you come to your core and to the Highest Happiness. Kriya Yoga as other kinds of Yoga gives us all of this. The only difference between Kriya Yoga and other kinds of Yoga is the method. Methods are different, but the final result is the same.
