Considering ourselves as bodies

That is the basics of Kriya Yoga. It is a fact. It is the fact - we consider ourselves as our bodies. It is a fact - we got our bodies according to our Karma. It is a fact - we can change our bodies for the worse or for the better. It is a fact - our Highest Self forgot its real essence and considers itself as our bodies, Consciousness and Energy. So if our body feels good, our Highest Self feels happy. But if our body feels bad, our Highest Self also feels bad. When our body feels bad, it means our Consciousness and Energy glimmer through our body. We can’t feel pleasure of Highest Self potency anymore, and our body feels pain instead of pleasure.

What is going on next? Suffering and dissatisfaction with ourselves comes as a result of the pain.

Need of physical activity

Why our bodies begin feeling worse and worse? Mostly because we don’t move a lot. Because we prefer driving a car instead of walking on foot. Because we prefer to go to a supermarket to buy some food instead of growing it. Nowadays we mostly use our brain not our physical body.

That brings us to a kind of crises. Why? Because our physical body was created to have a lot of physical movements during the life. And from life to life we had a lot.

Our mental body was created to manage different mental challenges, and we managed it, because we had to survive. Our physical and mental bodies were trained. But in the modern society our lifestyle is completely different. We don’t need to move a lot – public transport, escalators, private cars do it instead of us. We don’t need to survive – our basic needs are satisfied. You don’t need even to think how to entertain yourself – TV, social networks and a lot of mass media are ready to meet your needs. From the one hand – it is not bad. It gives us free time. But from other hand, most of people don’t have any idea what to do with their free time. Free time leads to laziness (Tamas). As a result of it – our bodies doesn’t work properly anymore. As a result of it - our Consciousness and Energy can’t shine through our bodies as it was before. As soon as it happens, we get depressed, melancholic and sometimes suicidal thoughts come. All of these problems are defined by our Karma: if you don’t care about your bodies then you get ill. The less you care, the sooner you get these problems.

Energy and consciousness

If our Highest Self is aware of itself, we don’t have these kinds of problems.

Because the willpower of our Highest Self can change any kind of situations.

It explains superhuman abilities or superpowers of some yogis. Some of them even can change their bodies just in front of you. They can do it, because they are aware of their Highest Self. They realized - their bodies are just a kind of a tool, so they can do with it whatever they want. They can stop indentifying themselves with their Consciousness and Energy. That is why – the can control it.

Our Consciousness and Energy are very powerful tools. They aren’t limited by time or space. They can rebuild “a house” (our body) in a minute. If you are aware your Highest Self, you can, for instance, heal yourself from deadly wounds. The real yogi knows how to use Prana. We are not aware ourselves. We think - we are our manifestations. Our manifestations shine through our bodies, and we consider ourselves as our bodies. Due to this reason we cling to our bodies with a deadly grip. But you should always remember that you couldn’t repair or fix anything you cling with a deadly grip. You can’t fix your watch if you have grabbed it in your hand and are scared to put it on a table to disassemble and check all the elements. As long as you hold to it by both hands, they will still be broken because you use your hands to cling to it, not to fix it. Consciousness and Energy - it is like our hands, which hold our body. If we release it we can improve it. But our rush of living doesn’t let us to make any changes for the better.

Evolution

Only Evolutions helps us to overcome it. Ignorance is followed by Tamas (Tamas is a definition for inertia or resistance to action). Tamas is always followed by pain. Pain makes us move.

I have heard a lot of opinions about Darvin’s Theory of Natural Selection and . Some people condemn the theory; some people admire it. The most interesting thing is – both are right. The reality is more complicated than our knowledge of it.

Various theories

Anyway bad living conditions make us move. If we move in the right direction, we do our best to avoid the pain, and we shape our bodies in the best possible way. From this point, Kriya Yoga and Karma Yoga don’t contradict with the Theory of Natural Selection and Evolution. It is clear, that you have more chances to survive if you have healthier body than people next to you.

So the more you care about your body the better body you will have in your next life. If you do a lot of good things during the current life the better next life you get. So that is the way of appearing high castes and aristocracy.

Is it a guarantee for your children to be a part of the real aristocracy, if you have already had this status? An answer – could be “Yes”, and an answer could be “No”. From the karmic point of view – decent person can’t be born in unworthy family. But with time it got mixed up and only Evolution and your own merits begun defining your current and next life. If you stop, you feel pain at first. If you don’t pay attention to it – you would be wiped out. Some pessimistic philosophies are based on the idea of “The world is full of sufferings.” Yoga doesn’t think this way. Yoga says – we have no idea about the world but the only thing we know – if you don’t want go forward willingly, you will be pushed or wiped out. So Darvin’s Theory is a kind of explanation of this process from the external side of life.

Internal and external

External side is just a reflection of the internal side. It helps us to understand Kriya Yoga.

The most important question for Yoga is “as far as we identify or we don’t indentify ourselves with something that we are not.” We need a kind of fulcrum to increase our self-awareness. All our previous and current lives are about searching “the Fulcrum”, which doesn’t depend on external aspects. We need to lean on this Fulcrum and pull out “our tail” from the problems.

From the point of view of Yoga Axiomatic: we have Consciousness and Energy - we consider ourselves as Consciousness and Energy - Consciousness and Energy are impregnated in our bodies and that’s why we consider ourselves as our bodies. We consider ourselves as our gross body, then we exercise it and care about it. But at the same time, we still have a lot of from our previous animal’s lives inside our human body. For sure we should do our best to improve our body in all possible ways to get the better body for the next life – it is that very Darwin’s Natural selection.

Natural Selection

Natural selection explains us why human beings and animals mostly have healthy bodies: those who didn’t have, were already eaten or died without posterity. They say, for instance, in ancient times houses were built better. No, they were built like in present times, but only the best-built houses have remained until now.

Let’s get back to our body – you should exercise your body daily if you want to keep it healthy because during the evolution it was created for helping your survival in difficult living conditions. It wasn’t created for lying in a bed or sitting in a chair for the whole day. It was created to make a certain numbers of movements every single day. It goes without saying, because if it wasn’t, we couldn’t survive during the natural selection. So we can say – movements are the part of our Karma. If we don’t move, we have problems.

Sooner or later a living being steps out to the next level. It begins to realize that it is not just a body, but mostly it is about thoughts and ideas. Usually a living being realizes it only at the level of human being. The natural selection consists of several steps: as soon as we take all advantages from our body, the next step is getting an intellect. It helps us to develop. And this way leads us from an animal to a human being.
