Kriya yoga

By practicing Kriya yoga people get able to observe the thoughts without getting involved in them. If we practice kriya-yoga long enough we break the connection between thoughts and emotions. We have different thoughts coming to our mind, which may be brilliant and may be rubbish. But as soon as an emotion bounds with thinking process, it starts to draining energy out of us.
The thought starts to grow itself up and becomes bigger and bigger as a giant leech. In such a way jealousy, depression, persecution mania, sense of loneliness get over us. This may also be fear, lack of confidence – a wide range of feelings and manias, which today make many people to suffer. And all this goes exactly the same way. It does not matter what kind of thought it is. The thought itself is neutral. But since you attach an emotion to the thought, frightful processes start. What you have to do? To keep thoughts and emotions separate from each other! And kriya yoga with its monotonous, periodic exercises is the instrument, which can divide thoughts and emotions from each other.
For example, a thought comes to my mind during kriya yoga practice. My first reaction would be to attach an emotion to the thought, and this process is about to start. But I am busy practicing kriya yoga and I am not going to quit before I will finish my practice. Let the thought wait. My normal reaction would be to pop up and run to get my everyday stuff done, but not in this case. Now I am carrying on with my monotonous practice. As a result, I win the time, and then the separation effect comes to force, and – that’s it. The thoughts are on their own, the emotions are on their own. As soon as we have got this skill by the method of kriya yoga, we take control over all our thoughts. And we can take control over our thought only if it is free of emotions.

Work with a thoughts

All depressing thoughts, which restrict our freedom causing diffidence, work only if they are attached to our „life-source“. If there is no attachment, no involvement – they just fall off.
That is why Kriya-yoga is extremely serious topic. Not just exercises for our arms and legs. Some people think that it is just a variation of gymnastic, aerobics. Exercises may appear similar, but this is completely different system.
First, it works with our thoughts and ideas. It also keeps the physical body in good shape, but the most important thing is that it allows us interrupt the flow of the negative thoughts. There is no energy of pain and suffering, it does not exist. The shade is just an absence of light. Nevertheless, we face some nice and some ugly things every day. What we call pain is just our own energy of pleasure turned against us. Of course, this mechanism is very complicated. It is even tougher on the biologic level; on the mental level it is at least traceable. But all in all, we generate negative thought ourselves, we attach energy to it, and this very energy starts depressing us. So we feed our enemy ourselves. We have to break free from this circle, otherwise we will not be able to reach self-control, stable mind and state of meditation.
Especially bearing in mind that our goal is to help as many people as we can!
Practicing kriya yoga, we fight our enemies – negative thoughts. Practicing kriya yoga, we learn to separate thoughts from emotions. Suddenly we realize that we can control our thoughts. We start to perceive when either negative or positive thought is about to come to our mind. We get able to do this. Once you have taken control over your thoughts, you start to make difference between your “Self” and your thoughts. And this is very important step forward.
So first we realize that our physical body is not our “Self”. As soon as we have learned how to control our thoughts, we realize that our thoughts have also nothing to do with our “Self”. We live our lives and all exercises of our mind live their own life. Otherwise we think that we cannot give up our depressive thoughts because that’s what life is about. But suddenly we realize that by “switching off” our mind for a moment we don’t stop living. Moreover – we live on, we see and hear the world around, but do not let our thought in. This a serious step forward in taking control over our thoughts. It is a good level in Kriya yoga. Just reminding - first level is a beginner level. We just get to know kriya-yoga, and this period lasts as long as we have done one hundred and eight full rounds of kriya, about 90-minute each.

Taking under control

Practicing daily, it takes three to four months. After that, enhancement takes place. And then you will catch yourself on feeling that you do not notice time during Kriya-yoga practice. Like it would go on its own, and this is a very good sign. If you forget about time during Kriya yoga practice, you are moving in the right direction. Thus you will come to understanding, that you are not a physical body or a thought. According to axiomatic, when we come to understanding, that our Higher Self does not depend on our physical body or our thoughts, then our Higher Self can take them under control. And you get wonderful opportunities. Say, somebody wants a nice body. Here you are, come and get it. Partly our body depends on genes we get from our parents, partly on our life-style, but still at a large extent it is in our own hands.

Your instrument

Moreover (as a rule, young girls are very interested in getting nice and strong body), Kriya-yoga even gives us a recommendation: «If you want your body to be healthy and beautiful, practice dressed in heaven, and let no weather to bother you». And there is another hint. Your body is not your Higher Self, but it is your instrument. A beautiful girl sees her body beatiful, not herself beautiful. And from that moment she can achieve all what she wishes using here body. Remember: as soon as our Higher Self takes control over our physical body, our body becomes as platicine. You can make whatever you want. The same is with thoughts and feelings. Theoretically we understand that our thoughts and our Superior Self is not the same. But we do not know how to use this understanding. We need an actual experience.

Finding the source of happiness

As soon as we take control over our mind and feelings, we start to see our thoughts from the side, and we are able so rise also our mental level. After we have passed these two levels, we start to enter into sphere called the causal body. When we take control over our physical body and thoughts and start to understand, that source of happiness is not outside, but inside us, we enter the level of the causal body. This is a level of different quality – a level of joy of life.
Kriya-yoga means, that this will happen quickly. But actually this is a science, allowing us to carry out positional fighting. Kriya-yoga means, that we get rid quickly of our inner negative states, but it also gives us a solution for the case, if we could not do it quickly. We can make it slowly, step by step. This is a highest level of the causal body. It is quite complicated topic. Generally, the causal body may be related to being in love, highest joy or, in opposite, to depression, being under pressure.

Kriya Yoga Theory

Short description: how can we make our body beautiful, healthy and full of energy? What can help us not only to resist negative thoughts and emotions but really get rid of them? Is it possible to solve the vitally important question within a fraction of second? How can we overcome our depression by ourselves only after hour and half of practice and forget forever about this malady?
How can we open endless source of delight, pleasure and happiness inside ourselves?
With the help of kriya yoga (dynamic yoga)! Kriya yoga used in the school of OpenYoga is the most powerful and insufficiently known kind of yoga. In the West kriya yoga is not as popular as hatha yoga. The reason of this fact is that the aims and methods of kriya yoga are different from aims and methods of hatha yoga. This yoga helps an person to explore oneself with its unusual but safe methods, learn how to control the body and make life energy flow in the right direction.
We can translate word «kriya» as some action. Depending on the context, translation can change to purification, or something that corrects if something earlier was done wrong. But the most important is to understand 3 large aspects:
  1. Physical area: what kriya yoga can give to our physical body;
  2. Subtle area: what can kriya yoga do with our emotions, thoughts, feelings, and as a result helping in opening super natural abilities.
  3. Causal level: philosophical level. Level, that raises up a human being to the new level of essence. In yoga it is considered that in a human body we also go through an evolution, and we have to get to the next level of being – the level of causal body.
This is a dynamical yoga where the movements are repeated. We do the first kriya, second, and third. During an hour or 90 minutes of our exercises we make certain number of movements predetermined for us by nature. And if the next day we won’t do these exercises a little reserve will have left. Or we finish things that we didn’t manage in the past by simply practicing this kind of yoga.
We just do repeating exercises. Sometimes they are exiting, sometimes not. Sometimes different thoughts come, sometimes not. But it is very deep practice and with help of yoga we rediscover our Self.It is well known that everybody have their own Atman. And it is impossible to destroy it, nothing can injure or harm «Self», it is perfect and beyond all limits. Proportional to the realization of our «Self» we open different kinds of supernatural skills, like yogis had in ancient times. So our aim is to explore ourselves. And kriya yoga helps us to do it. How?
We must try everything that really is not our «Self» and throw it away. How can we recognize what is our «Self» and what is not? We must always make experiments. So we make some experiment, understand that some part is not our «Self» and throw it away. If you follow this way gradually you throw away everything that is excessive. In the beginning we study kriya yoga. When we just start learning it is hard to do it. After you do kriya yoga 108 times you start doing it automatically. You do it with your eyes closed, and you open them after you finish. It means that you forget about your body. You are on your own and your body on its own. So you understand that your body isn’t your «Self». Why? Because you forget about it. Body moves by itself and you’re aside. Body moves like in a dance and you’re watching. So you can realize that your body isn’t your «Self». But it isn’t enough only to realize this.
While you are practicing the unique thing happens: you pull out your consciousness and energy, come out from conditionality of body, and your body stops its influence on your «Self». People who practice kriya yoga easily come over such conceptions as hunger, thirst, indisposition, or don’t have them at all. They just do complex of kriya yoga and then feel happiness. Why? Because their physical bodies are already under control. We understand that our physical body is not our «Self» and take the control over our body. Not our body controls us, but we control our body. And we can do it with the help of kriya yoga.Ok, we go on exploring. Our body is not our «Self», but what is it. Maybe those are our thoughts and feelings? We practice kriya yoga, thoughts and feelings come and go away, sometimes we find rubbish in our heads, sometimes we really discover useful things.Sometimes during the practice something happens that helps to look at the situation from the other point of view. Thanks to kriya yoga (one of her useful properties) you can make your mind work very effective and find solution for difficult problems.
