The goal of Open Yoga and these online courses is to explain the most challenging and unclear aspects of yoga in simple, easy-to-understand language for anyone who has never studied yoga before.
We try to use as few Sanskrit terms as possible. To make yoga easy to understand, we explain it in everyday language, with clear examples from daily life, without unnecessary scientific or technical terms.
Our aim is that anyone, even with no prior knowledge of yoga, can start the course and follow along easily.
The fact that we present all materials in a clear and accessible way doesn’t mean that the same knowledge couldn’t also be presented in a formal, technical form—available only to those already familiar with yoga terminology. We simply believe that such an approach is inefficient today, as very few people would benefit from it.
In our view, the biggest challenge in today’s world is the widespread lack of basic understanding of yoga.
At the same time, the simple and accessible language may give students the misleading impression that they don’t need to pay close attention, as if it were a story to flick through rather than absorb. To truly benefit and deepen your understanding of yoga, it’s important to study the material with care and focus. Approaching it thoughtfully will bring the insights and growth you’re seeking.
