01. MY THREE POSITIVES.
1. It's getting warmer, spring is coming.
2. I caught myself feeling like my shirt was made of muscle—that's what push-ups do.
3. A week until vacation.

02. MY REFLECTIONS AND DISCOVERIES.

We've learned that there are three types of yogic worker motivation: the first is for fear, the second is for reward, and the third is because the job must be done.
We've also learned that the limbic system has motivations: the search for food (money), reproduction, and achieving dominance (hierarchical status) in the existing population.

Can we reconcile the fact that the first type of karma yoga worker is about finding food and achieving status, and also reproduction and status in society?
Or do they run in parallel? Can you fear hunger, or can you be rewarded with a delicacy?

And is the motivation to work for recognition from others or for interaction with others—for example, doing something to improve one's appearance in the eyes of significant others, which could protect one from hunger (being a valuable member of society) and increase one's status—also related to the limbic system?
Or doing some work that involves interacting with the opposite sex, like our hero nailing a shelf in time.
But there's also the neocortex, where the motivation isn't so clear-cut. At a minimum, it could be the same, but in the long term—to endure for a long time for a bonus.
But getting pleasure from solving a complex mathematical problem, even without recognition from others, or from oneself—is hardly limbic?
First, we need to distinguish between motives derived from the limbic system and the neocortex...
But it seems the third type of karma yoga work is motivated more by the neocortex, while the first two are motivated more by the limbic system.
