I decided to try if there is life without coffee and not drink it for a year.
The first few weeks were hard. In the spring, I really missed it, I wanted to sleep. But, in general, it’s not that hard.
At first, I replaced it with strong tea, but not for long.
What’s wrong with coffee, it seems like you drink it and become cheerful and more energetic?
Coffee does not give our body any source of energy, it blocks the fatigue receptors. It’s like covering up the “check engine” light in a car.
Plus, it stimulates the release of adrenaline and dopamine - we get pleasure and an influx of glucose.
Probably, you can use it as a tool when you need it, take it and you are cheerful.
But I start with one cup a day or when needed, then more and more, and now I'm addicted and drinking more coffee than I'd like.

According to the results:
I started getting better sleep. Perhaps I started going to bed earlier, the body's signals are clearer and easier to follow. Stimulants block these signals. A typical situation with coffee is when you're sleepy all day, although you drink a lot of it, but when you go to bed, you can't fall asleep.
I became calmer, more relaxed. For now, this bothers me more, it makes me lazy. But I find an opportunity in physical activity - I did a few push-ups and immediately felt more cheerful, especially when holding my breath.

According to the conditions of the experiment, a year has passed, I can drink again. And I want to inhale this aroma, add notes of chocolate, feel the taste. Interestingly, the process of drinking is more attractive, and not the effect of cheerfulness. But I feel like a drug addict who got off the needle, got rid of the addiction, got permission to use sometimes, but doubts whether it is necessary and will not fall back into addiction if he tries.
