Sometimes you start doing one thing, but something distracts you, your attention switches. And so on over and over again.
But then you remove external distractions, you concentrate and understand that you are already waiting for something to distract you and you can rest.
Because concentration requires effort?
It would seem that switching attention and concentrating on something else should eat up even more resources, but no, it's easy to jump over the top.
But if you could concentrate, all your attention in one direction - they promise that the object will begin to reveal itself.
But let's take it on a community scale.
How many different entertainments there are - movies, TV series, shows, social networks, news, etc. And all this takes our attention.
And it would seem, put people in an information vacuum, how much resource at once and the opportunity to use attention without scattering it.
Here you can come up with a conspiracy theory that attention is specially diverted so that they do not think about what they should not.
Or maybe only business, people are ready to pay for this, maybe not always with money, but by watching ads or supporting the opinion of the management.
