THE MEDITATION ON WISHING HAPPINESS TO ALL LIVING BEINGS
There are various practices in yoga. Some of them deal with the physical body, others deal with the mind, with images and concepts. These are meditation or visualization practices.
Meditation of wishing happiness to all living beings is widespreadin many different teachings and movements including yoga. It’s a simple and pleasant practice and its effect goes beyond the practice on the mat or the yoga class.Its essence lies in visualizingspecific pictures and wishing happiness to various categories of living beings.It helps to calm down, to find support in oneself and perhaps, (even) deal with unpleasant moments and situations with other people in one’s life.

MEDITATION

Now we will practice the meditation of wishing happiness to all living beings.
Please sit in any comfortable pose and close your eyes. Take a few natural breaths.
Align your back, neck and head.
Remember that the best condition for (the) yoga practice is when everyone around you is happy.
Focus on the center of your chest and see or imagine a beautiful glowing flower there.
Observeit for a while.
Now say to yourself, «May all living beings be happy!»
See how waves of light start radiating with this wish from the center of the flower.
The light fills your whole body and goes beyond it, reaching everyone you love and everyone who loves you, your near and dear ones.
See them happy, calm and joyful.
Turn your attention back to the center of your chest and say to yourself again, «May all living beings be happy!»
(See how the) Waves of light start radiating from the flower again. The light fills your whole body and goes beyond it reaching all living beings in the Universe
You may never meet or become aware of each other's existence but you wish them happiness with all your heart.
See them happy, calm and joyful.
Turn your attention back to the center of your chest and say to yourself for the third time, «May all living beings be happy!»
See the third wave of light and warmth run through your whole Universe reaching its darkest and gloomiest nooks, reaching all those living beings whom you don't like and who don't like you.
In response to your wish, they become happy. And happy people are in no mood for anger or offence
The knots of (the) negative karma come untangled and you become free.
Gradually turn your attention back to your body. Take a few calm breaths. Then open your eyes.
Our meditation is over.
