A tale about a very long snake

The idea that someone can build happiness on someone else's pain is shortsighted. Such a person wishes exactly the opposite because hurting someone means hurting oneself.

Another thing is that it takes time to see the results of one's wishes and actions.

Imagine an incredibly long snake crawling around. It’s a very long snake. A few miles long! And it moves around in a huge circle.

Suddenly, the snake sees its own tail right in front its head. The tail irritates the snake because it makes the snake’s head dusty. The angry snake bites it!

It will take time until the pain reaches the snake’s head because the snake is very long. Eventually, it happens, and the snake feels pain.

The same thing happens to people who think that they can become happy making someone else unhappy."
